Everyone looked strong at the meet at Pierce College on Saturday, Congratulations to our Gremlin Boys and Youth Girls who received 2nd place trophies.
Some of you may have seen that some of the athletes were dehydrated, and needed some medical attention, all are fine and will be practicing with their clubs today.  Which brings up a mighty important point. Parents, please make sure that between Thursdays and Friday your children drink lots of water. Also before you leave for a meet they need to eat a light breakfast, I've found that a hot cereal such as "Malt-o-Meal" a Glass of water or  "Gatorade" or PowerAde" and a, Banana is an excellent breakfast before the race, I recommend eating it before you leave the house, this should give plenty of time to settle before a run.
This will be our last week at College of the Canyons, starting Thursday October 9, we will move our practice to Bridgeport Park.
We have hats and visors for sale at practice, anyone interested in purchasing one of them please see Alan or Elaine.
Our meet this SUNDAY will be at Mt. SAC, it is located in Walnut CA, about an hour and fifteen minutes away by freeway.  We need to know if you will be racing this weekend, as we have to submit our runners by Wednesday.
The Lap-a-thon has been ran and it was a fantastic event, the athletes I'm sure were surprised on how many laps they ran. All our hard work is paying off.
Now is the important part of gathering in those funds, turning them in so they count towards the grand prize, and completing the fund raising. Please help your child to collect the funds from the people who have pledged to support them.
The dead line to be eligible for is October 7th.
