XC GENERAL MANAGER Alan Bingham
- Assist the President in
managing the cross country program.
- Assist by delegating
duties to responsible coordinator volunteers
- Assist in making the
decisions necessary to run a successful Cross Country season.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Karen O'Neil
- Enlist volunteers for
various jobs at meets or functions for timing, finish line, course monitor,
set up, clean up, age group parents, concessions.
- Coordinates with meet
director during hosted meets
- Checks the parent
participation sheet for position of interest
LAP-A-THON COORDINATOR Courtney James
- Works with the Cross
Country General Manager to set date and site for Lap-a-thon
- Sets up a system for
recording laps
- Records laps of each
child with help of volunteers
- Procures music for the
event
- Procures prizes for
winners
STORM SERIES DIRECTOR Alan Bingham
- Works with Cross Country
General Manager to set date and advertise
- Works with volunteer
coordinator to enlist help of parents for setup, course monitor, finish line
table, sign-up table.
- Ensure that the course is
marked and setup prior to the start of the race
- Gathers index cards for
posting of results on the internet
- Post results
- Procure prizes for the
final meet
UNIFORMS/MERCHANDISE
Karen
O'Neil
- Order uniforms for
athletes
- Pick up and distribute
uniforms
- Take orders on various
Storm merchandise (t-shirts, sweats, hats)
CERTIFICATION OF ATHLETES
Karen O'Neil
- Assist in the
registration process
- Put together the team
roster
- Compile binder of
athlete contracts, waivers, and age verifications for certification by VYC
- Meet with VYC for
certification
MEET DIRECTOR Alan Bingham
- Works closely with
volunteer coordinator to ensure adequate help on meet day (away and home
meets)
- Act as the point person
for questions and problems
- In charge of finish line
and timing (home meet only)
TEAM PARTY COORDINATOR Lisa Moser
- Determine date and place
for party
- Procure permit for party
- Order food for party
- Help coaches hand out
awards
- Put together a possible
memory book.
AWARDS COORDINATOR Kwan
Beilin
- Order and pick up team
trophies for all athletes
- Order Storm awards
- Distribute weekly meet
ribbons in communication box
NEWSLETTER/PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR
Kwan Beilin
- Put together a weekly
newsletter for distribution via email.
- Ask for input from
coaches on a weekly basis for the newsletter
- Make several hardcopies
of newsletters for non computer users
POST SEASON COORDINATOR Rick Larimore
- Ensure that information
about the post season is made available to the club.
- Build a list of interested
athletes
- Assist Lap-a-thon
coordinator with lap-a-thon
