Smoke and
Practice Notice
If the current
situation with the fires and smoke continue
around the SCV, practice may be cancelled
until further notice. Please note location
changes due to the possibility of Central
Park being closed for use as a command
center. When in doubt, please check your
emails. Our priorty is to keep our kids
safe and healthy. We hope all of our
families are keeping safe. |
I want to thank everyone for a great
season, I was very excited to be at the
meet this weekend and watch the kids
having a great time racing. The weather
was perfect and the kids looked real
strong!
This is our final week of training
before our last meet of the regular
season. Our award banquet will be held
on Monday October 29th at the
Santa Clarita Sports Complex. I am
scheduled to be out of town on business,
I regret that I will be unable to
attend. I want to take this time to say
that it has been a real honor to work
for this club and your kids are awesome.
I am overwhelmed to have been a part of
all the successes that they have had
this year.
I want to wish everyone good luck at our
final meet. For some of you, this will
be your last race with the Valley Youth
Conference. As you move on to high
school, I wish you luck and hope you
continue to run. For the rest, I hope to
see you back next year. A big thank you
to all the coaches and parents for the
many hours you have given to the Santa
Clarita Track Club.

Hello,
I can't believe we're entering the
final week of regular season
practice! It's hard to believe that
only a few short months ago we were
struggling to make it to the gazebo
at Heritage Park. Everyone's
performances yesterday were a long
way from that first night on the paseo...It was
another great day of individual
performances at O'Melveny. You
should feel very confident returning
to the same course next Saturday for
the League Finals!
This week will be a light week as we
take a little rest in preparation
for League Finals. The week will be
mostly easy distance with some
strides to keep your legs fresh.
Here's where we'll meet...
MONDAY- Heritage Park @ 6PM
Tonight will be an easy distance
night (4 to 5 miles)
TUESDAY- Heritage Park @ 6PM
Another easy night followed by some
strides
THURSDAY- Central Park @ 6PM
LAST PRACTICE! You don't want to
miss tonight...There will be a few
surprises...
It's been a great season...Looking
forward to our last week

be turned to Lisa Howe by

next day of practice if practice

Awards Banquet
Get ready for our
end of the season team banquet on
Monday, Oct. 29th at 6:00 p.m. It
will be held at the
SCV Sports Complex,
20800 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa
Clarita (same as last year). This year we
have broken down family contributions based
upon last names rather than by age group.
Last
names starting with:
K-P
- Soda/Water 2 - 2 liter bottles per
family**
Clear liquids only (7-up, spirte,
etc) NO FRUIT PUNCH
PLEASE! We could lose
our cleaning deposit.

Coaches' Gifts
If you would like to contribute towards the
coaches' gifts, there will be a donation box
at the team awards banquet. Please show
them how much you appreciate them and all
their hard work. |

POST SEASON TEAM
The AAU Southern Pacific District Cross
Country Qualifier Meet (SPDXC Meet) will be
held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at
Corriganville. The final will be held on
Saturday Dec. 1, 2007 in Virginia Beach.

Post Season, please see Russ Phillips.
Further information regarding post season in
regards to qualifying for the VYC team,
travel costs, and necessary documents will
be provided in a flyer at practice. |
