 I want to thank everyone for a fantastic season, It truly have been a blessing in my life to be a part of this club and to get to know your children for these few months. I was very excited to be at the meet this weekend and watch the kids having a great time racing and just enjoying each others company. The weather was perfect and the kids looked real strong! Seeing the other grandparents out to watch their grand kids, or just to sit in the park was a site that I will cherish.
I want to take this time to say that it has been a real honor to work for this club and your kids are awesome. I am overwhelmed to have been a part of all the successes that they have had this year. For some of you, Saturday will be your last race with the Valley Youth Conference. As you move on to high school, I wish you luck and hope you continue to run. 
 
I hope to see you back next year our Track and Field program will start in March 2009. 
 
A big thank you to all the coaches and parents for the many hours you have given to the Santa Clarita Track Club.

Coaches Appreciation Dinner
The club will be taking the coaching staff out to dinner for all their hard work. If you would like to contribute towards the coaches' gifts, there will be a donation box at the team awards banquet.  Please show them how much you appreciate them and all their hard work.   
 
 
Awards Banquet 
Our awards banquet will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at:
 
SCV Sports Complex,
20800 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita. 
 
We have broken down family contributions  based upon last names rather than by age group.

- Soda/Water 2 - 2 liter bottles per family** Clear liquids only (7-up, sprite, etc) NO FRUIT  PUNCH PLEASE, NOTHING WITH RED DYE!

Post Season Team
The AAU Southern Pacific District Cross Country Qualifier Meet (SPDXC Meet) will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008  at Corriganville.  
 
The final will be held on Saturday Dec. 6, 2008 in Decatur, Alabama .
 
If you are interested in participating in Post Season, please see David Summer. There will be a seeding meeting on Tuesday 10/28 to put together the conference "A" teams. Please let David know if your interested in joining the post season program.
 
Our post season practices will be held at Central park this week on Monday and Thursday at 6:00 pm.
 
This is not a Storm program, athletes will become part of the Conference Post Season Team called the Valley Striders.

Marathon Expo Booth! 
We will have a booth at the Santa Clarita Marathon expo on Saturday Nov 1st from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
 
If you have a few hours you can spend sitting in the booth with us please contact Alan.
