Hey team,
MT SAC was a huge
success for the team. A
lot of victories and
overall a pretty good
time. That was a tough
course but I think you
guys showed those hills
who is boss. I'm sure
you all were having
nightmares last night
about the infamous
poop-out hill! Anyway,
I was very proud of what
each of you accomplished
and thanks again to all
the supportive parents
and coaches!
I want to touch on a
couple points this week:
the light situation with
training and end of the
season fatigue. First,
the sun is going down a
lot earlier every week
so I want to make sure
we get started right
away and I'm going to
try to maximize the
light on the trails as
much as possible. I'll
try to mix up the
practices but inevitably
we'll be doing a lot
more laps around the
parks for the final
weeks of practice.
Safety is the number one
concern so parents
joining us and athletes
as well, please be aware
of all the runners.
Runners especially try
to stick in groups of
2-3 at least. Also
runners, when we are at
the park for practice DO
NOT LEAVE THE GROUP
UNTIL A COACH CONFIRMS
WHERE YOU ARE GOING.
Don't play on the
playground, do that
before practice starts
or after WITH YOUR
PARENTS PERMISSION
ONLY!! Make sense,
good. We don't want to
lose any of you guys so
please, please, please
stay with the group.
Second, it is the end of
the season with only 2
meets left. This is a
critical time to keep
focused. There is still
time to improve so keep
working hard. There are
3 things I desire for
all of you through the
end of the season: stay
healthy, don't get
injured, and improve on
your overall place in
the races. So take your
vitamins and get some
good sleep, don't mess
around skateboarding and
doing things that would
be easy to twist an
ankle or injure you some
other way, and work hard
in practice to improve
in the races. Both
remaining courses are
hilly and fun and I look
forward to seeing you
guys improve some more.
Finally, thanks to Kirk
Nelson for coming out to
help you guys with your
running form. Please
take a minute to shoot
him an email, I'd love
for him to tell me
tomorrow that he got
over 50 emails from you
guys.

Thanks again for a great
year so far, you all
make it fun and worth
it!!!
