What a fantastic season
we have just completed,
everyone has grown so
well this year in the
sport of cross country.
It has truly been a
blessing having this
season with your
children. They have
worked hard and the
outcome has been that
they met the challenges
that was set before
them. That is one of the
things I like about the
sport of cross country
running, it is in many
ways personal to each
and every athlete, they
work hard during our
practices, and at the
end of the season they
see their own results,
today was the second
time this season we went
to Pierce college and
the kids really did
great, our team was
especially strong
pushing up the final
hill. It looked like
everyone had improved
over being here at the
pre-season meet.
Many times we face
challenges in our lives
and these kids have
learned that with the
proper training, life's
challenges can be
handled with ease as the
course of life
puts obstacles in their
way.
Our season has
officially ended with
today's meet. We will
have our awards banquet
on Thursday and each
athlete will get their
team trophies, and a
memory DVD of the
season. There will be
other awards as well
such as the Lap-a-thon
award, Scholastic Award,
and President's Award,
and our Storm Award.
This banquet is our way
of recognizing the kids
accomplishments.
I hope to see
you back next
year, our Track
and Field
program will
start in March
2010. Our online
sign up system
will be turned
on soon, so keep
an eye on your
email box and
our website.
A big big thank
you to all of
the coaches and
parent
volunteers for
the many hours
you have given
to the Santa
Clarita Track
Club this
season, we could
not have had all
the success we
had this year
without your
help, once again
thank you for
everything.
