Dear Team,
What is post season? Each
year we put together an All
Star team called Valley
United Striders of the top
of the conference to
represent us at the AAU
Junior Olympics Cross
Country National
Championship. There are 2
meets for the post season,
one we are hosting at
Central Park on November 5,
and the national meet in
Orlando Florida. These meets
meets obviously have
additional cost, such as
airfare and car rental,
lodging & food in Florida
plus the meets have a fee.
If you plan on going to
Florida, please fill out the
following application and
bring to practice to night.
The top 8 athletes from the
XC season make up the A-team
and then B-Teams and C-Teams
follow from those. If there
is a vacancy on the A-team
athletes will be pulled up
from the
Ranking File. There is a
small travel stipend which
will help A-Team athletes in
their travels but there are
no funds for B or C team
members.
This is a very rewarding
experience for the children
and once they have traveled
on a trip such as this they
return with a renewed
interest in the sport.
For many years our family
vacations were these trips
to various places around the
country in cross country, my
kids all enjoyed it very
much.
Your children can still
participate in the post
season even if they are not
going to Florida, for the
next 2 weeks we will still
have practice for any
athlete who is competing in
the meet on November 5th.
The fee for the meet is
$7.00. You may choose to
only do that meet and not
the meet in Florida and you
are welcome to do that,
please keep attending
practice until that meet
over. if you are planning on
going to Florida, then you
will continue to practice up
until the meet on December
3.
