Parents and
Athletes,
Mighty Team Storm,
Only 4 weeks to go!!!
Don't slow down now,
brace for a big finish.
This is the biggest week
of the whole season.
This time of the season
we all are the most
tired, thank goodness
for the last weekend off
from racing. I'm right
there with you, but we
have to hang on
together. Our team has a
lot more to accomplish
this season. For those
of you that made it to
practice great job and
thanks coach Elaine
again for taking the
reins. I will be out
Monday and Tuesday of
this week again enjoying
the big sequoia's up
north. I'll be thinking
of you while we are
running on trails in the
national park.
After a pretty hard week
we just finished I've
been watching you guys
closely and I think it's
time for a lower mileage
week. The goal this week
will be quality and less
quantity. Monday night
will be a shorter
distance tempo run with
the hills. Tuesday night
we'll hit some more
intervals, but we'll
switch them up to be
tempo running that leads
right into a long hill.
This will get you guys
familiar with the hill
at Mt. SAC called poop
out hill. Leading up to
that hill you have a
long downhill and a hard
right. The hill itself
is pretty long and very
steep. Practice makes
perfect so we'll do only
3 intervals but we'll
make them count!!
Thursday we'll hit some
fartlek training and try
to find some different
terrain to mix it up.
Saturday is Crescenta
Valley and this course
is challenging: not with
hills, but roots and
rocks and grass. It's a
pretty fun course so get
ready mentally to tackle
it.
Sorry for my
inconsistency last week,
work sometimes has to
come first so thanks
again for all of the
coaches that stepped up
and again for this week.
Have a great start to
your week and I look
forward to seeing you
Thursday night at
Central Park.
Thanks,
Coach Jeremy
