Team,
We are starting our 5th
week of practice and
ramping up for our first
meet at O' Melvany. For
those of you who are new
to Storm, this park is
really awesome and the
race is as well. We'll
talk about that during
practice including some
strategy. In the
meantime, you are all
looking AMAZING! We
just finished a great
week of workouts and
everyone is responding
well to the additional
mileage and intensity.
This week will have more
of that. After a mellow
Labor Day evening run it
will be back to business
tonight at COC. We are
going to run some longer
hill repeats to continue
building strength for
later in the season. O'
Melvany isn't an
incredibly hilly course
so at this time we
continue to train right
through that first meet.
I continue to gain
excitement with the team
and how awesome you kids
are. A quick example of
that is starting the
season with our loan
youth girl, Mauri, and
now to see we have 10
youth girls! How cool
is that!
All ages and abilities,
keep working hard to
improve. Please let me
know if you are
experiencing sharp
pains, this is
critical!
This week also brings,
supposedly, the hottest
temperatures so far this
summer. PLEASE hydrate
throughout the day and
drink an electrolyte
before practice. Also
on interval nights,
Tuesday and Thursday,
make sure you bring an
electrolyte with you to
drink during practice.

One final comment, this
Saturday shows a
triathlon at Castaic
lake. Normally we've
put on a kids triathlon
but unfortunately the
park cancelled it this
year. We will still
have practice but it
will be at West Creek
park. I'll remind
everyone tonight and
Thursday again.
