Storm Team,
Wow, what a finish to
the season!! Let me
start by thanking all of
the parents that were
there to support the
team all year and
especially on the final
meet. The morning crew
was great, we even had
time to spare. Also
Concessions, warm-ups
and taking everything
down. We really are an
incredible team!! I
can't tell you how many
people mentioned how
smooth that meet went
and how professional it
was. How cool is that.
Thanks to Alan and
Elaine for their decades
of experience to lead a
great day!
Now on to the athletes,
a very emphatic heck yes
we can! 7 out of 8 race
team top 3 finishes and
3 individual first place
finishes! And numerous
amazing performances to
shock the rest of the
conference. You guys
really showed up and
performed and I couldn't
be more proud.
Congratulations on an
incredible finish to a
tough season.
Ok, on to post season.
This is very important,
if your athlete is in
the top 16 and you have
a desire to continue on
to the post season
please email me. We
will be having a seeding
meeting this Wednesday
night and must know if
you are in. Even if you
are in the top 8, please
confirm, otherwise other
runners higher in
ranking will be given
the opportunity to
replace you. I said top
16 because there is a
chance we can run B
teams and some might
make it all the way to
nationals. Financially
speaking, not only does
that require your travel
costs but also $40 for
the Striders uniform.
We compete on the
national level as Valley
Striders not Storm.
We will continue to have
practice at the same
time and days at Central
Park. The difference is
we will meet by the
bathrooms.
Non-Postseason athletes
can still attend
practice but please
understand we focus
training specifically
for continuing
athletes.
Finally, the awards
banquet is Tuesday,
November 5th at 6pm at
the Santa Clarita Youth
Complex above the
Aquatic Center off
Center Pointe Pkwy.
This is a great night to
remember the season,
give out awards and
enjoy some good food.

is for athletes and
immediate family only.
