Dear Storm
Family,
Team Storm!!
Hey everyone, we just
completed week 2 and I
am gearing up for a
great week 3.
Congratulations to all
the newbies for making
it this far!! Great
work.
One more week of
uneasiness and you will
be over the hump. That
doesn't mean it will be
EASY, but you will
definitely start to feel
stronger and it will get
more fun. Or funner as
I like to say.
Beach day was
incredible. Thanks to
all the parents for
coming out and spending
the day with us. Kids,
what a blast to have all
you there for our
biggest turn-out ever.
I didn't count but I'd
say we had at least 60
kids, fantastic!
What's on the agenda for
this week you ask? Well
we are still in a
building stage getting
you in shape so with
that in mind we will
increase the run time a
little more. So prepare
yourself mentally.
Let's challenge each
other this week to NOT
WALK! You can do it.
If you feel completely
dead just slow down for
a minute then pick it
back up but promise me
you'll run every
workout.
With school in full
swing make sure you are
sending your kids with a
full healthy snack and
lunch. Apples, bananas,
apple sauce, Turkey
sandwiches, PB&J
sandwiches, baked chips
instead of Cheetos, and
plenty of water. A
healthy snack with a
combination of these
items is good after
school also about 2
hours before you come to
workout.
We are going to have a
great season, please let
me know at practice if
you have any questions
and let's get to it!
Thank you,
Coach Jeremy

Jelly Beans
At
the end of each
practice we reward
the kids with a
small amount of
Jelly Beans. We are
running out of Jelly
beans, I'd like to
ask each family to
bring in 1 bag of
Jelly Beans so we
don't run out.
We have plenty of
Jolly Ranchers, so
please only bring
Jelly Beans.

Birth
Certificates &
Missing Signatures
If you did not turn
in a copy of your
child's Birth
Certificate when you
turned in your
paperwork, we need
that now. We will
be certifying our
roster at the end of
the week, athletes
with incomplete
packets will not be
allowed to compete,
so we must have all
paperwork 100%
Complete. We will be
checking all of
paperwork this week
and will have a list
by the end of the
week of athletes who
are not complete.
2014 Returning Track
and 2013 Returning
Cross Country
athletes are ok,
because we certified
you for those
seasons, so this
applies mostly to
new athletes.
It is very important
that your child
signs in everyday.
There are some
athlete's who are
subject to being
dropped from the
team because they
are not signing in
and we are not sure
they are still
participating with
the team.

Be The Light 5K
Be the Light 5K is an
exhilarating night time
5K along the beautiful
San Francisquito Creek
Trail in Santa Clarita,
as we show support for
families facing a
teen/youth addiction
crisis and raise funds
for A Light of Hope.
A Light of Hope Support
Center, Inc. is a
501(c)3 non-profit
organization dedicated
to providing healing and
freedom for youth 14-26
years of age. They offer
support-group and
counseling options to
serve the needs of
individuals and families
in recovery.
ALOH strives to
facilitate, inspire, and
celebrate personal
growth and spiritual
development
They're taking a stand
against the devastation
caused by drug and
alcohol abuse and other
self-destructive
behaviors by raising
much-needed funds to
support the work of A
Light of Hope in our
community. 100% of the
profit from registration
fees and all donations
will benefit ALOH.
As the sun sets on Santa
Clarita, we will turn
our headlamps and
flashlights on for our
run/walk along the San
Francisquito Creek
Trail. Beams of light
will create a visual
show of community
support and love. Young
people in recovery-along
with moms, dads, and
siblings-will witness
this powerful reminder
that they are not alone,
and that where there is
light, there is hope.
Please visit their
website
bethelight5k.org and
register for this event.
This is not a Storm
event, but we will be
assisting this event by
timing their event for
them. come out and
support this fun night
time run. |
Sincerely,
Alan Bingham
