This Weeks Track &
Field Practice
This week our practices
are held on Monday
,Wednesday and Thursday
6:00 - 7:45pm.
On Saturday 9:00 am -
11:00 am
All Athletes will need
to bring with them a
bottle of water with
their name on it. A
light jacket with their
name clearly marked
inside next to the
collar label. and a good
pair of running shoes.
We ask
that athletes attend at
least 2 practices per week.
RAIN POLICY
If
it's raining practice is
canceled. However we will
practice in a light
sprinkle. This makes it
tricky, many times it is not
raining at the Track when
it's raining at home. Do not
drop your athlete off if
there is a chance of a
canceled practice, please
stick around. |
Lap-A-Thon Fundraiser
We
are excited about each
and every athlete
participating in the
lap-a-thon
NEXT Monday March 22
during practice.
Athletes will run laps
on the track for one
hour. This is a very fun
event for the kids and
an important fundraiser
for our team. This is a
music-motivated event;
singing along, running
to the tempo! Oh WAIT!
YOU'RE NOT A DISTANCE
RUNNER!? NOT important!
This is a fundraiser not
a race ~ run or
walk/dance, create an
hour-long relay team!
Challenge yourself! Just
recruit your donations
accordingly! The more
per athlete sponsors you
get the more donations!
There are 2 ways for
sponsors to support our
athletes, one is a per
lap donation such as
$5.00 per lap for you
distance runners; the
other is simply a flat
donation of any amount,
for example $20.00.
Our team will
acknowledge those who
raises the most funds
and all participants in
this event. A Grand
Prize will be awarded to
the top athlete who
raise the most funds for
the club.
If for some reason you
are unable to
participate the night of
the event, families are
encouraged to OPT OUT by
giving a tax-deductible
donation of $40.00
payable to the SCTC.
This is our major team
fundraiser and requires
everybody's support.
Your effort will be
recognized and
appreciated.
Participants (athletes
collecting donations
from their sponsors for
$40 or more)
will receive a Storm
Lap-a-thon tee shirt.
When turning in money,
we ask that only ONE
CHECK PER FAMILY payable
to SCTC, be written for
the entire amount the
athlete has raised.
(Checks from Sponsors
written directly to the
club by non-members may
not be credited to your
child.)
You can download the
Pledge forms by
clicking here or
by visiting our website.
The due date to turn in
the funds is Tax day
April 15, 2010. Flat
donations can be turned
in immediately.
Prizes will be awarded
based on the most funds
raised and turned in by
April 15, 2010. Funds
will still be accepted
after that date but
won't count towards the
grand prizes, but will
go towards the Storm
T-shirt.
If
you have any questions
about this fund raiser
please talk to Michele
or Alan.

Volunteering
We have been told by the
Helping Hands people
that the "Give a day get
a Disney Day" has
come to a close. People
who were signed up will
still be able to do
their volunteering,
however no new people
will be allowed to sign
up.
We want to thank
everyone who was able to
sign up to help us. My
understanding is that
everyone who was signed
will still get their
tickets to a theme park.

Fitness Club Starts
March 15
This year
we've added a
fitness program
for the parents.
We started on
Monday March 15
at 6:00 pm, our
next workout
will be held on
Thursday March
18 at 6:00 pm.
If you want to
get into shape,
then this is the
program for you.
The plan so far
is that we will
warm up at the
same time as the
kids, then we
have at least 1
hour to do our
own workout.
We'll have to
leave the track
area as it is
reserved for the
kids, but we
will have an
area to do our
own work outs.
be ready to get
into shape as we
start this
decade off
right!
The cost of the
program
is $20.00 fee
per month. To
Register please
visit the Club
pages of our
website.

Loaner Spikes
Each year we have
athletes who have out
grown their previous
year's spikes we ask
that you donate those
spikes to us, and we in
turn check them out your
teammates to borrow for
the season. If your
child has out grown last
years spikes and they
are still laying around
please bring them
Wednesday and see Mr
Provens.
He will also be issuing
spikes to athletes who
want to try them for the
season. If the size is
available.
