What a great meet that was! The kids were awesome! That was our biggest meet of the season with the exception of the Invitational meet. Hopefully things will warm up next week.

We could use a bit more help at the next home meet, an area that I saw a weakness was getting athletes onto the track at the starting area, therefore we'll add a few people there to assist in getting the athletes out on to the track into their lanes. We'll teach you how to do it, it's very easy, for example, in the 400 meter run, as soon as the athletes take off, athletes in lanes 4-8 can go out and get into their starting lanes, while athletes 1-3 need to hold back until the current heat finishes, then as soon as they are in, they can then take their lane, we simply need someone to help organize that and keep it moving. Another area would be escorts to move the kids from the staging area to the start lines. Most of the time that is done for only the 4x100 meters, but it would help us out to have several people assisting in walking the athletes over keeping them in order.

I've put up volunteer sign up sheets for all the meets, they are on the main page of our website in the right hand column below the newsletter links. Please help us out by signing up in advance. It makes it much easier to run the meet when we know who's helping.

Another thing we'll be doing at the next meet, is we're going to time 100 meter gremlins on the back side, we will need another crew of tag pullers and timers for that. It will take about 20-25 volunteers to make that happen, but it might shave off 30-45 minutes off our meet.

Meet results will be posted to our website on the Track & Field Page.
Top Time Reports will be updated soon.

Athletes this week will be signing up with their coaches what events they would like to do, Depending on the age of the athlete there are limits in how many events they can do each week. Gremlins are limited to a maximum of 3 events, everyone else is limited to 4 events maximum, but 1 event has to be a relay for Bantam through Youth,  Intermediates 4th event can be an individual event (ie not limited to a relay), If you have any questions about the number of events please ask your coach. The conference has a very strict policy about over eventing, the athlete will be Disqualified in all events of the day if they compete in too many events at a meet.
